Drilling into tile goes wrong roughly half the time, and if you are renting it is not an option at all. The good news is that almost nothing in a bathroom actually needs a hole.
The drainage rule comes first
Before anything else: nothing in a bathroom should have a solid base.
A closed tray collects a shallow pool within a week, and that pool is why sponges smell by Thursday and why the underside of everything goes slimy. Open bases, mesh, and anything that lets water fall through.
This single rule matters more than every organising product you could buy.
What adhesive actually holds
Modern adhesive mounts hold considerably more than people expect — a shelf with full bottles on it is well within range. What kills them is not weight but surface: they need clean, dry, smooth tile. Grout lines and textured tile are where they fail.
Wipe the spot with alcohol, press for thirty seconds, and leave it a day before loading it. Almost every adhesive failure is someone loading it in the first hour.
Get things onto the wall and off the counter
A small bathroom has almost no counter, and everything on it is in the splash zone. Toothbrushes dry properly on a wall and rot in a cup. Soap on a magnetic holder lasts noticeably longer than soap in a dish, because it dries on every side.
Vertical is the only space a small bathroom actually has.
Towels need air, not a rail
A towel folded over a rail is touching itself on both sides and stays damp until Thursday. Anything that lets a towel hang open rather than doubled over — a swivel bar, or simply two hooks instead of one — solves it without a new hole.
The one swap that needs nothing new
The rod is already there. A heavyweight curtain with a real texture replaces the thin plastic one on the hooks you already have — no drilling, no new fixing, and it is the single largest surface in the room, so it changes how the whole bathroom reads more than anything mounted on the wall.
Thin liner-style curtains cling to your legs and yellow by spring. Weight is what fixes both, not a coating.

Can you really add storage without drilling?
Yes, if you use the door, the rail and the cistern. Those three surfaces exist in almost every bathroom and none of them needs a wall anchor.
Do adhesive hooks hold in a bathroom?
Only on a smooth, dry, non-porous surface, and only if you let them cure for the full time on the packet before hanging anything. On tile grout or textured paint they will fail.
What makes a small bathroom feel bigger?
Getting things off the floor and off the edge of the bath. A clear floor reads as space even when nothing else changed.
